Volunteer of the month February, 2018.

Lalla Jagne is a final year student of Community Building and Design at the school of Achitecture and Engineering, University of The Gambia. She was an Information minister for the School of Achitecture and Engineering 2015/16 and their representative at the 4th Cohort of the UTG Leadership Fellowship.

Lalla had been an active advocate for education – especially girls’ education, from a very tender age. In 2008/11 she was president of the Forum for African Women Educationalists Gambia Chapter (FAWEGam) club in her school. In following her passion for Building and Design, Miss Jagne in 2015 interned at Ministry of Works, Infrastructure and Transportation – Architecture Unit. And in 2016, at Mam’s Building Company LTD.
She also served as Assistant Mentorship Coordinator at Educating for Africa’s Future in 2014-2015 and from there Lalla joined  Salimatou Foundation for Education as Mentorship Coordinator.

Her contribution towards the success of the foundation is tremendous. She lead the SaFE Mentorship Program where they currently have 10 pupils undergoing a six month mentorship training.

Ms Jagne continues to dedicate her spare time to creating a positive impact in the lives of the young people in The Gambia.
